SHOPPERS at Spring Gardens Shopping Centre are being asked to take part in the annual Christmas gift campaign, Reverse Santa.

For the fifth year running, the centre, in conjunction with Buxton and District Lions Club, will ask shoppers to donate a gift for a local child who otherwise may not receive a gift at Christmas time.

The campaign will run until Monday, December 19, when the local Lions Club collect and distribute gifts around the town ready for the big day.

In addition, Santa will be at the centre every Saturday in the run up to Christmas so youngsters can tell him what they’d like to receive for Christmas.

Centre manager, Carlon Stewart said: “Everyone at the centre is looking forward to the festive season. Reverse Santa becomes more successful each year, our shoppers are so supportive, and it’s a simple way to help others over the festive period.”

Anyone is welcome to donate a gift to the appeal, simply bring a new, unwrapped gift along to Santa’s corner before December 19 and leave the rest to the elves who will wrap them ready for distribution by the Buxton Social Services.
