The release ‘Let Your Light Shine’ by Deviant Robots was formed in founder member Steve’s childhood playground of the limestone hills and quarries around Buxton.

Steve, who grew up in Harpur Hill and was a student at Buxton College, said: ‘When I heard the chorus lyric of our amazing female vocal, recorded remotely in isolation in lockdown, it took me back to my childhood and I knew immediately that I had to use a photo of Solomon’s Temple as artwork. This folly overlooking Buxton was the image on our blazer badges and the motto, Sic Luceat Lux Vestra, is Latin for Let Your Light Shine. It was a coincidence I couldn’t let pass.”

In the remixes, Steve Blood chases the sunrise with powerful slow-house beats and space for Grim's vocals while a heavy bass chugs away and punishes your speakers. AudioTrip dials up the funk in a modern take on 90's Italo house crossed with a Philly disco arrangement.

London-based producer Steve enlisted bass player and Belper resident Andy Portas, both are alumni of South-East Derbyshire College, to bring the funk.
