An evening with Peak poet

BUXTON Fringe favourite, poet and raconteur Philip Holland will be the guest of the Friends of St James’ in New Mills on Thursday February 24, at 7.30pm.

Entitled My Words, the performance will take place at 7.30pm in the Library Lecture Room on Hall Street, New Mills.

Philip is well-known to Buxton audiences, where he has performed regularly in the Festival Fringe and recently in the Festival Literary Series. An established poet, he has published anthologies of his writings, with illustrations by his wife Patty. His poems have won awards and been shortlisted in national competitions.

Philip (pictured right) has published a book called “Words of the White Peak the disappearing dialect of a Derbyshire village” tracking the language of his native village.
