The Pavilion Arts Centre is welcoming the sensational star of the sixties Chris Farlowe & The Norman Beaker Band to the venue on Sunday October 23, at 7.30pm.

In June 1966, just as England were winning the World Cup, Farlowe took the Jagger/Richards song Out Of Time to the top of the UK singles chart.

He and his band The Thunderbirds were legendary on the 1960s R&B circuit and they spawned such fine musicians as Carl Palmer and Albert Lee.

Farlowe went on to enjoy more hit singles including Think, Ride On Baby and the hugely popular Handbags & Gladrags and since then, has been a regular on the UK and European rock and blues circuit, and an album – Waiting In The Wings - was released to huge critical acclaim.

Norman Beaker, meanwhile has been at the forefront of the British blues scene for the last three decades, playing with the likes of Alexis Corner, Jack Bruce, Paul Jones and Eric Burdon.

Tickets, priced at £15.50 and £17.50, are available on 0845 127 2190 or at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
