A dose of romantic comedy to end year

The romantic comedy Take This Waltz will round-off the 2013 season at Peak Film Society this weekend.

Take This Waltz stars Michelle Williams as Margot, a happily married woman who falls for an artist living across the street from her, leading her to doubt her certainties about her life and marriage.

The Certificate 15 film, which also stars Seth Rogan and is directed by Sarah Polley, will be screened at the Partington Theatre, on Henry Street, Glossop, on Saturday at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm.

Tickets, priced £4.50 (£3.50 concessions), are available from Bay Tree Books, on High Street West, or on the door.

Half-season memberships, covering five films, are still available, priced £19.50 (£16.50 concessions), and can be purchased at a screening or by emailing info@peakfilmsociety.org.

The January screening at Peak Film Society will be the live-action and computer-animated adventure drama film Life of Pi on Saturday January 18.

• Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre kicks-off its 2014 cinema programme on Wednesday January 15, at 7.30pm, with the 2013 French-American caper thriller film Now You See Me. Tickets are priced £4.
