Buxton AC’s Rob White ran the fastest five-mile by a club member for some years at the Cheadle Spring 5 road-race last weekend.
White, who has had an impressive season, posted a time of 28 minutes and three seconds to finish the event in sixth place overall.
Elsewhere, club newcomer Ben Light had a good race to finish in 31 minutes and 39 seconds.
He finished just ahead of Chris Milton (39.44 and first FV60) and Coleen Butler (45.27).
In the Norton nine-mile road race near Doncaster, Emma Havenhand came home in a time of 75 minutes and 58 seconds.
At the Cloud 9 Hill Race, held out of Congleton and climbing to the summit of Bosley Cloud, Buxton was well represented by a team of 13 runners.
First home was Jason Bennett, completing a great finish of 14th place from a field of 435 runners, in a time of one hour, five minutes and five seconds.
He was followed by Pete Bailey (1.18.05), Richard Bouglas (1.18.18), Bryan McKenna in his first race for the club (1.18.23), Alex Kashefi (1.18.52), Ross Martland (1.19.26), Kevin Mottram (1.24.32), Sheila Bradley (1.25.50 and second FV55), Helen Brunt (1.32.21), Bev Golden (1.33.02), Dave Forshaw (1.35.02), Simon Moorhouse (1.35.11) and Richard Goff (1.45.19).
A number of Buxton AC members took part in Parkruns at the weekend.
Steve Claye recorded a time of 21 minutes at Marple, while at the new event in Lyme Park Dave Forshaw finished in 26 minutes and eight seconds, followed by Alfie Bailey (27.52), Pete Bailey (27.53), Rachel Dowle (28.48) and Clare Bradshaw (33.13).
• The popular Pavilion Gardens 5K event will be held this coming Saturday morning.
The race will begin at the Burlington Road end of Broad Walk at 9am.
