Webb century in vain as Compstall exit cup

Compstall were the visitors to New Mills in the opening round of the 2012 Hawke Trophy and made 125-6 with H Webb scoring 100 not out.

New Mills only lost three wickets in the chase though, finishing on 126-3 as B Boardman made 56 not out.

Mottram made 236-5 at home to Broadbottom, thanks to A Brown (40), J Marsden (38) and S Fazacally (57).

Broadbottom fell well short despite D Burgess scoring 82 as A Brown took 4-5 in the total of 159-8.

Charlesworth made 193-6 at home to Hollingworth, A Radcliffe making 33, but Hollingworth eased to 194-6, A Tindall making 70 as Tilak Bhojani took 3-44.

High Lane were bowled out for 77 at home by Hadfield, the visitors losing seven wickets before passing the winning post and moving into round two.

Chapel conceded their tie with Woodley after failing to raise a side for the fixture.
