VIDEO: Play of the Day '“ Green Bay Packers' Hail Mary touchdown takes Arizona Cardinals to overtime

In sporting parlance '˜Hail Mary' is that last ditch, final throw of the dice.

It’s sending your goalkeeper up to attack a last minute corner, putting all 15 men into a final line-out on your opponents’ try line, or pulling your netminder for an extra outskater.

American Football’s Hail Mary is a long throw that usually doesn’t pay off, as you try and score late in the game to rescue a result.

The Green Bay Packers pulled it off on Sunday however, to force their game against the Arizona Cardinals to overtime.

Aaron Rodgers threw the 41-yard touchdown pass, the second time this season he’s managed it, and even though the Cardinals won the game 26-20 to render the feat meaningless in terms of the result – it’s still a highlight reel moment.
