Buxton Rugby Club are gearing up for their first home match of the season - and their first competitive home match at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium.
Buxton will face Sleaford in the Midlands 3 East (North) Division on the new 4G surface on Sunday (16th September) at 1pm.
It’s a historic day for everyone concerned in the new project and director of rugby Karl de groot is looking forward to the occasion.
“It’s a fantastic community sports project and a real opportunity for cross sport engagement,” he said. “All while creating a social hub for the town, after all it’s a small community and most of us know each other.
“The football club have done a fantastic job with their partners in delivering a first class facility and the lads are buzzing for Sunday.
“Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing a good crowd, some old friends and some new, hopefully, whilst showcasing our product to a wider audience.”
Buxton will be looking to bounce back from an opening day defeat at Rolls Royce while visitors Sleaford lost at home to Belper.
