Derbyshire County Cricket Club has received planning permission for phase one of the proposed ground development at The 3aaa County Ground.

The first phase of development is scheduled to commence soon after the conclusion of the 2014 season, with a view to be completed before the start of the 2015 campaign.

It will see the Gateway Centre renovated into a state of the art cricket centre of excellence and pavilion, whilst also renovating the Lund Pavilion to create better facilities.

Derbyshire chief executive, Simon Storey, said: “After a robust planning process, we’re delighted that work on the first phase of our redevelopment can now begin. To fulfil our ambition for success on the field, we need first-class facilities for players, members, spectators and our business customers.”
