High five for Buxton HC Ladies
They made the two-hour drive across to Shrewsbury and looked in the early stages as if they were still on the motorway heading north.
Buxton looked a lot better in the opening stages of the second half moving the ball around the back through Jim Stewart, Harry Hobday and Jake Meaton.

Hide AdHowever, it was Shrewsbury who struck first, and then second to rock Buxton before captain Bartholomew took a quick free hit and shot through the keepers’ legs from the edge of the D to bring them back into the game.
Buxton couldn’t find an equaliser which left them exposed to a Shrewsbury third goal taking the final score to 3-1.
This week they host University of Birmingham.
Buxton Ladies' Firsts beat Ashbourne Seconds 5-1.
A quick start from Buxton allowed them to gain an early lead with captain Nicole Roe picking up the ball just by the halfway line and charging through Ashbourne’s midfield and defence to send the ball flying into the bottom right corner.
The second goal came from Michelle Dexter-Lowe, assisted by Maddie Hazelhurst.

Hide AdBuxton added to their tally shortly after break as a baseline run and pinpoint pass from Roe to Dexter-Lowe was slotted into the corner of the Ashbourne goal.

Hide AdHazelhurst assisted Gina Howarth for number four and the hosts’ scoring was completed as Ellie Mangnall netted.
Mangnall, clashed with one of the Ashbourne players meaning Buxton were down to 10 players due to the injury.
B ut bravely Mangnall returned to help the team past the finish line to secure the victory.

Buxton HC train regularly at B uxton Community School.
Men’s training is on Tuesday nights and Ladies' is on Thursday’s while juniors and Badgers also train on Tuesdays.
