In a busy week of racing, new Buxton AC member Frances Bromley continued to demonstrate what an asset she is to the club as she claimed first place at the Tideswell Inter Inns 5K race.
Buxton also dominated in the men’s race, with yet another win for Ben Light and a fine third place for Jason Bennett.
Juniors Louis Forshaw-Perring and Leo Dearden also continued to impress, finishing first and second in their age group.
Fran Bromley went on to claim seconnd place at The Roaches Race, the latest event in the Staffordshire Moorlands Summer Series. Sheila Bradley also took home the Vet 55 prize.
At the Kinder Trog, which climbs a total of 3500 feet in its 16 miles, Buxton AC recorded two top ten finishes, with Rob White taking seventh place (2.02.12) and Jason Bennett in ninth (2.02.23).
Local runner Rick Houghton took eighth place, running for Pennine Fell Runners.
Also running for Buxton were Bryan McKenna (2.18.19), Jo Bednall (2.37.10; 9th female), Liz Nocton (2.52.02) and Lucy Stephenson (3.52.38).
The Whaley Waltz fell race, with its infamous river crossing towards the end, attracted a field of over 200 runners.
Top three finishers for Buxton AC were Mark Halsey (53.16), Roland Meylan (54.43) and Alfie Bailey (57.49). The women were represented by Lucy Stephenson (64.05).
Also on the fells, Jason Bennett was first Buxton AC runner at Grindleford, coming 25th out of over 430 runners.
Elsewhere Bill Alsop claimed the Vet 70 prize at Calton.
