Buxton Hitmen ready for Belle Vue Colts challenge

Buxton travel to the National Speedway Stadium to take on the Belle Vue Colts in Travel Plus National League action on Friday night, 7.30pm.

The Hitmen were beaten by the Colts in the KO Cup and gave the Manchester club a fright in the league match at Hi-Edge Raceway earlier in the season when the Hitmen led the meeting from the start until a last heat 5-1 from the Colts in the final race gave them victory by 46-43.

Hitmen team manager Joshua Moss said: “It’s obviously going to be a difficult task but we can find out how far we’ve come since the last time we were here in the cup when we lost 58-32.

“We improved what we had done at Birmingham from earlier in the season and hopefully we can do the same on Friday night in Manchester.”

Jack Smith leads the Colts and he will be well supported by Tom Perry and Kyle Bickley with Joe Lawlor and Ben Woodhull giving the Belle Vue team a strong top five with Paul Bowen and Kean Dicken completing the Colts septet.

Buxton welcome back Kieron Douglas after food poisoning as he replaces Sam Woolley, While the Hitmen continue to use rider replacement for James Cockle.
