Nominations open for High Peak’s community sports awards

With British sporting success at its height, it’s the perfect time to celebrate our heroes and heroines in High Peak.

High Peak Borough Council’s Community Sports Network Awards recognise talented sports people, coaches and volunteers as well as individuals who have been involved in sport for years or have helped to make their workplace active and healthy.

Nominations are open to everyone including those involved in schools or sports organisations within Derbyshire. Self-nominations will also be accepted.

Councillor Godfrey Claff, executive member for sports and leisure, said: “There’s a fantastic amount of talent in High Peak and these awards are all about celebrating that and recognising achievement.

“If you know someone who excels in their field then please nominate them and let’s make sure High Peak is well represented at county level later this year.”

The closing date for entries is Friday August 30.

High Peak winners will go through to the Derbyshire Sports Awards and winner and runners-up will be invited to attend the presentation evening at The Roundhouse in Derby in November.
