Disley’s Paralympic hero Dame Sarah Storey made an impressive return to the sport after claiming victory at last week’s Paracycling International Cup in Newport.
The 36-year-old, who gave birth to daughter Louisa in June, was victorious in the 3km pursuit after overcoming her American rival Jennifer Schuble.
With 1km to go, Storey caught up with Schuble and finished in three minutes, 45.406 seconds.
Storey took a six-week break after giving birth, but has slowly built up her training schedule since returning to the track.
She says she is now targeting a seventh Paralympic Games when the tournament heads to Rio in 2016.
Storey won four golds at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London and her total of 11 gold medals are a joint modern-era British record, along with Tanni Grey-Thompson and Dave Roberts.
