Buxton Hitmen have completed this year’s team line-up with the addition of Ben Hopwood.
Hopwood begins his tenth season at National League level and is looking forward to the short commute from his Dales base.
He has previously represented Mildenhall and Poole Pirates, featuring as a member of the latter’s fast track draft at the side who won the Elite League.
He said: “This move may surprise a few people as they might not think Hi-Edge is one of my favourite tracks.
“But I’ve always scored well there and am looking forward to riding it regularly.
“After the long haul to the Island and Plymouth, it will be nice to be close to my local track.
“I’ve ridden the tracks at this level and know what it takes to win races.
“I’m particularly looking forward to linking up with Tony (Atkin) and Ryan (Blacklock) who I have known for a while and one thing is for certain I can assure Buxton supporters of 100 per cent effort.”
Promoter Jayne Moss is pleased with the team assembled at Hi-Edge.
She said: “I think we have done well to retain so many of last year’s team and we are happy with the riders we have added to those.”
