THE ACHIEVEMENTS of Buxton Cycling Club riders were marked at the club’s annual prize dinner.

Chris Lea was among the prize-winners at the Buckingham Hotel last Saturday for his ten, 50 and 100-mile time trial titles. Tom Thornely won his first cycling title in the 25-mile time trial, his first ever attempt at that distance which bodes well for the 2011 season.

Lee Baldwin dominated on the hills with three hill climb titles and also walked away with the Road Race trophy.

Mostyn Bullock claimed the Len Eyre Club Time Trail championship for the third year running, while Steve I’Anson claimed the veterans title in his first year riding for Buxton.

Minor titles went to Cian O’Leary, Mark Soden and Marcus Fielding for ten and 25-mile time trials.

Special mention went to Buxton CC’s Junior National Champion Chris Baines, while Tony Millington was awarded lifetime honorary membership for over 40 years service to the club.

A Buxton Cycling Club spokesman added: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported the club and riders during the 2010 season.”
