Chinley’s Scott Rowland claimed a second-place finish in the 50-50 class in the final round of this year’s Staffordshire Moorlands Trials Championship.

The final round of the championship was held at Upper Hulme last Sunday over four laps of a rocky and wet moorland course that attracted 89 riders.

Pete Ruscoe rode his GasGas to an easy win in the 50/50 class, with Rowland (pictured) finishing ten marks behind along with Greg Moore, to claim joint-second.

Elsewhere, experienced High Peak rider Andy Hipwell coaxed his Twin Shock Yamaha to victory in the well-supported Clubman’s class.

He lost just nine marks to finish ahead of Steve Kenny, Kevin Stannard and Steve Hitchcock.

Another High Peak rider, young Scott Hipwell, also rode well as he sealed joint-fourth place.
