Josie wins youth Welsh Open title

BUXTON teenager Josie Paterson has celebrated winning her first Welsh Open title

Paterson, the daughter of BDO ladies darts star Lorraine Farlam, beat Scotland’s Cody Hepburn 3-1 in the final of the 2012 Girls Singles competition earlier this month.

After a comfortable 3-0 win against Danni Rafferty in the opening round, Paterson was made to work hard in her quarter-final and semi-final clashes with Wales’ Gemma Bowden and Rhian Beryl Evans respectively, both times narrowly winning 3-2.

The England junior international, who also represents Yorkshire at county level, attends St Thomas More School.
