Buxton let slip a two goal advantage and with it dropped two points in their fight against relegation as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Leicester Panthers
Buxton started brightly, dominating the play and creating plenty of chances.
It didn’t take long before the breakthrough arrived as Lowton and Wilton carved through the Leicester defence before releasing Browett who slotted home.
The lead was quickly doubled after good work from Talbot on the wing created space for Orritt who skilfully scored between the goalkeeper’s legs.
Everything was going Buxton’s way but they then lost their way towards the end of the first half and gave the opposition more room.
Leicester gained some initiative as Buxton got sloppy and grabbed a goal back early in the second half; M Chiu scored from a short corner.
The goal knocked Buxton’s confidence but they held on and the defence stayed firm against the opposition’s attacks.
As the second half progressed, Buxton started to create some openings but the final pass was lacking. This then proved costly as the opponents grabbed a late equaliser through J Davy.
