Buxton Hitmen are gearing up for the new season, which starts on Tuesday (April 29), when they travel to defending champions Cradley.
The Hitmen were due to contest a challenge match at Stoke earlier this month, but the meeting was postponed due to problems with the Loomer Road track.
They will now head to Cradley, who reverted to their original name after previously being known as Dudley, for the season-opener.
Team boss Jayne Moss said of the fixture: “The away match at Cradley is no doubt a tough way to start the season.”
Meanwhile, Hitmen recently signed up their sixth rider for the season when Tony Atkin agreed to return to the club.
Moss added: “Tony has a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to the newcomers in the team.
“Although he retired part-way through last season, he has kept his hand in racing in grasstrack meetings and practicing and has agreed to start the season for us.”
The club’s first home match against Stoke is this coming Sunday.
