Primary Schools from across the High Peak came together for the annual High 5 tournament of local winners recently.

The tournament was held at Chapel High School, who also provided sports leaders to for each of the schools to help with the management of the teams throughout the day.

The tournament was run by High Peak Netball Club and High Peak School & Sports Partnership.

The teams who took part were primary school sides from Chapel, Chinley, Hayfield, Padfield and two sides from Harpur Hill Primary School.

The majority of the matches on the day were close-fought and evenly-contested.

The eventual winners were Harpur Hill ‘A’ with Chinley finishing the day as runners-up.

Harpur Hill ‘B’ came third by a single point just overtaking Padfield, with Chapel and Hayfield close behind.

Harpur Hill ‘A’ will now go on to the County finals, which will be held in Derby later in the year.

Last year they were winners of the County and the East Midland Tournaments at High 5 Netball, and will now be looking to replicate that success.
