BUXTON & District Athletic Club runners took part in last weekend’s North of England Cross Country Championships.
Continuing her excellent season, Amy Mellor ran another good race to finish 14th in the under-17 women’s championship from a field of 90 runners.
In the under-13 boys, Daniel Burt finished narrowly ahead of Thomas Drabble (103rd and 104th respectively), from 141 runners.
The sole senior representative, in a huge field of 488 runners, was Mark Quince, who finished 426th.
n Continuing their plan to compete in a dozen half marathons, Ann and Jarrod Roberts-Dinsley travelled to Barcelona last weekend to take part in the race.
They both finished in times of two hours and nine minutes, a personal best time for Jarrod.
n Two Buxton-based athletes took part in the Wolverhampton Turkey Trot five-mile road race on Sunday.
Andy Wilton finished in third place overall, and first over-50 male, in a time of 27 minutes and 21 seconds.
Kath Lamplough was the third lady across the finish line in a time of 31 minutes and 36 seconds, just 25 seconds outside her personal best time for the distance.
