Cycling: Baldwin in good form ahead of National Championships

Buxton CC’s Lee Baldwin maintained his terrific form in last Sunday’s Riber hill-climb in Matlock.

Lee Baldwin put in a good showing to finish a close second in 3:43.0, being beaten by Adam Kenway (Team by 3.5 seconds.

On the same day, Buxton CC won the team prize for the third time in four years in the Chesterfield Coureurs hill-climb on the Beeley Moor climb.

The club’s team win was lead by Chris Baines who was sixth overall in 9 minutes 55.9 seconds, a startling 1:15.9 behind Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chimnoy Cycling Team) who is one of the men on form as the National Championships approach next week.

The National Championship hill-climb will be held near Richmond in North Yorkshire next Sunday (October 27).

Buxton CC will be well represented with six members taking part in the field of 180.
