High Peak Athletics Club finished fourth in a premier meeting at Moorways Athletics track recently.
The club came away with 159 points and personal bests for a clutch of youngsters.
Bella Anderson (first) and Freya Hatcher (second) recorded PB’s in the high jump, Eddie Fenton (fourth) in the 100m, Alice Tolley (first) in her first race, Sosseh Badjie (first and second) in the 800m and 200m and Ted Johnson and Isaac Quinn (Both fifth in their respective ages) at the shotput.
HPAC fielded 24 athletes at the event, and for many it was the first track and field outing.
Head Coach Steve Finney said: “I am so proud of all the children.
“Their workrate and enthusiasm is 100% all the time.
“I would also like to thank my fellow coaches and all parents and parent helpers for their continued support.”
Olivia Plant, who ran a fantastic 100m winning her heat, added: “It’s been a fantastic day and a great opportunity to race against some of the best young athletes in Derbyshire.”
