Buxton & High Peak Golf Club’s Charley Mycock helped his Derby College golf team to first place in the recent Inter Collegiate Tour (ICT) Event, played at Lingdale Golf Club, to stay top of the ICT league.

Mycock was among the team of eight players, all part of the Performance Golf Academy Derby player training programme, which won both the Net and Gross events. The Buxton golfer shot a round of 76-6-70, as his team returned a Gross total of 453 and a net total of 433.

Performance Golf Academy Derby programme director Nigel Furniss said: “The Derby team did their job today, which was to win both events to maintain our lead at the top of the leagues.

“It was a difficult day with snow and cold temperatures to deal with, but the team stuck to their task well for a deserved win.”

The wins maintain Derby College’s challenge to win both the Net and Gross leagues, and qualify for the National Finals at Shropshire Golf Club in early May.

The final league fixture is on March 27 at Stonebridge Golf Club in Warwickshire.
