Jack Massey took little time in amassing his tenth win in the paid ranks at Buxton Devonshire Dome last weekend.
Massey, aged 23, sealed victory over 41-year-old opponent Robert Rosenborg - thanks to a first-round knockout.
In front of hundreds of his own supporters Chapel cruiserweight Massey swept aside the latest challenger with consummate ease.
Jack’s father David said: “It was job done for Jack and to get it done in the first round was brilliant.
“Having said that he’d been expecting a tough fight.
“Jack moved him around the ring and saw his chance and then went for it.
“To be fair the guy got knocked down but Jack then pounced after that and it was all over.”
Massey, who last year won the WBC Cruiserweight Silver Youth Title, could now be set for a title eliminator for a more prestigious strap.
Whatever lies in wait, Massey senior says his son will enjoy excellent support.
He added: “I suppose it was a bit of an anti-climax because there were over 700 tickets sold by Jack, which pretty much packed out the Dome.
“It was fantastic support and we’ll see what happens next.
“His promoter (Steve Wood) has said he doesn’t want to rush him.”
