Events hosted by lady captain Mel Elton and club captain Ian Waite proved popular and successful at Matlock Golf Club.
Elton staged a ladies’ only taster session at the club’s driving range, inviting women who fancied to taking up golf to “come and have a go at hitting that little white ball”.
With the help of assistant professional Lucas Davis, the ladies were offered inspiration and guidance, and a fun time was had by all.
All sections of the club took part in Waite’s Captain’s Weekend, which was launched by past captains contesting The President’s Putter competition, which was won by Tom Hitchcock with a score of 37 points.
A shotgun-start Am Am competition, which featured 22 teams, was won by Ged Elton, Sean Heenan, Gareth Johnson and James Wain with 98 points.
In the Captain’s Day stableford competition, the Captain’s Prize was won by Mark Peet, with divisional prizes going to Steve Bradley, Rob Inglis, Mike Harrison and Danny Millard and the team prize going to Aaron Watson, Craig Longmore and Mick Harrison.
Competitions for ladies and juniors were also held.
