Buxton AC’s Lauren McNeil continued her dominance at the hilly Lyme Park Parkrun at the weekend, again finishing as first female.

The teenager clocked 20.05 which, along with giving her second place overall in the race, was just seconds away from the female record for the 5K course.

There was also a course PB of 20.49 for Richard Bouglas, who finished in sixth place.

Further afield, Richard Goff had a strong run to finish 16th out of over 100 runners at the Bryn Bach event, in a time of 21.40.

The Mid-Cheshire 5K, with its fast, flat course attracted almost 300 competitors and there was another First Junior prize for Elliot Meylan (17.48), who is continuing his fine run of form.

There was also an impressive run from Jason Bennett, who was second in his age group (17.35). Also running well, Roland Meylan clocked 21.34.

At the Wirksworth Incline Fell Race Jason Brunnock finished in 12th place, completing the 4-mile course in 27 minutes and 44 seconds, while Angela Bent claimed the Vet 60 prize.

Nick Jones represented the club at the Masson Hill Race, finishing 47th out of nearly 160 runners.

The Pavilion Gardens 5K returns on Saturday 14th May, while for those looking for something a little longer, the annual Lomas Distribution Buxton Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 29th May.
