Buxton Athletic Club had two teams on show during last weekend’s annual British Fell and Hill Relay Championships.

More than 140 teams took part in the event which comprises four legs, featuring a mixture of individual and paired runners.

Buxton AC was represented by a senior male and a veteran male team.

The senior team of Alfie Bailey, Sol Clark, Jason Bennett, Bryan McKenna, Tim Aldridge and Ben Light came home in 51st position.

On Leg 2, Sol and Jason produced a creditable run to finish 20th fastest over the distance.

For the veterans team, Peter Bailey, Paul Tutt, Jon Sewell, Nick Jones, Mark Quince and Martin Ward finished in 95th place overall.

Meanwhile Lucy Stephenson travelled to The Isle of Man Mountain Ultra event, where she completed the 50-kilometre course with 2600 metres of ascent in 8 hours and 42 minutes.

On Saturday 7th November the Pavilion Gardens 5K will be held in support of the Movember charity, with a home produce stall to raise funds for this good cause. Runners are encouraged to don their moustaches with pride (real or otherwise!) and head down to the Broad Walk for the 9am start.
