THREE Buxton golfers featured in the Derbyshire Boys team which lost to a strong Yorkshire side in their annual meeting.

Jacob Bagshaw and Charley Mycock, from Buxton & High Peak Golf Club, and George Bloor, of Cavendish Golf Club, were among the 12 players who made up the Derbyshire Union of Golf Clubs side which faced Yorkshire at Wortley, near Sheffield.

Bagshaw and Mycock lost their respective foursomes, but Bloor, partnering 2012 Boys Captain Ryan Wesselingh, of Keddleston Park, won their tie 3 & 2.

Yorkshire led 4½ to 1½ heading into the afternoon singles, during which Bagshaw and Bloor won their matches 1 up, while Mycock was beaten in his 4 & 2.

Although a 13-5 defeat overall, the Derbyshire Boys performed well against arguably one of the strongest sides in the country.
