Despite the snow and ice, Buxton AC was well represented at the Lamb’s Longer Leg fell race last weekend.
The event, which takes place in between Hayfield and Chinley, saw 93 runners tackle 951 feet of ascent within a distance of just 3.1 miles.
The first three Buxton finishers were Jason Bennett (10th), Richard Bouglas (35th) and Peter Bailey (38th).
They were followed by Alfie Bailey (47th), Jo Bednall (61st), Martin Ward (66th), David Forshaw (68th), Richard Goff (73rd), Andrew Wearden (75th), Elizabeth Nocton (76th) and Sally Kerr (82nd).
Meanwhile, other club members made the trek t North Wales to compete in the Twin Piers 10K.
The race takes place between Llandudno and Colwyn Bay piers.
There was podium success for top performer Rob White, who finished in a highly-respectable third place.
In doing so, Rob set a new personal best time of 33.45.
Next to finish for the club was Daniel Feely, in a time of 41.16.
More personal bests were achieved by club members Richard Bouglas (41.35), Elizabeth Nocton (50.35) and Dave Ryan (52.46), while Suzy Turner completed the course in a time of 67.51.
• Looking further ahead, this year’s Lomas Distribution Buxton Half Marathon has been given a date.
The race, which attracted 250 runners for the 2014 edition, will take place on Sunday May 24 from the Pavilion Gardens.
