Junior middleweight Dec Butler, from Buxton, travelled to Nottingham to face a hometown opponent and put in an impressive performance en route to victory.

Butler, of Buxton’s ABC gym, took on talented opponent D. Gollota just a fortnight after winning his first bout of the season in Leicester.

In a fight that pitched together two excellent, young prospects, Butler put in arguably a more complete performance than his previous outing.

The Nottingham boxer seemed happy to try and push Butler on to the back-foot, and he was successful when this worked.

Butler though carried the clear power advantage and equally had success when he forced his opponent backwards and it was the Buxton boxer who shook his opponent with an excellent right hook.

Gollota, despite showing a stubborn chin, was to be beaten in round three when Butler landed yet more shots, with the referee forced in to a standing count on the Nottingham boxer, giving Butler a unanimous points victory.
