Local hero Max Hertzog won the World Final of the National MiniStox Championship at Buxton Raceway on Sunday.
Former Buxton Community School pupil Max (pictured above) competed with drivers from all over the world to win the prestigious Gold Roof.
He started the race in pole position and after a spectacular race exchanging the lead with some other drivers he got his head into gear and pulled half a straight on second place and crossed the line to receive the chequered flags.
Second place went to Karl Hawkins of Towcester, with third going to the fastest lady driver on track Phoebe Wainman. She has grown up around racing with her dad Frankie Wainman Jnr who also has his World Final next week in Northampton.
