Tideswell mogul skier Ellie Koyander has spoken of her disappointment after failing to qualify for next month’s Winter Olympics.
The 22-year-old had met all the criteria but was not chosen by Team GB officials as the squad elected to not choose any mogul skiers for the event which begins in Sochi, Russia, on February 7.
Koyander released a statement shortly after the squad was announced, saying: “It’s been a long and hard journey with a lot of ups and downs since competing in the last Winter Olympics in 2010.
“My road to Sochi has unfortunately come to an end, but I am proud to have given it my best shot.
“Although I am obviously very disappointed to not be going I can honestly say that I did my best, put my body on the line and do not have any regrets.
“Not making it to Sochi has certainly fuelled the fire to work even harder to go to the Pyeongchang Games in 2018.”
