Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’ — Thursday November 15

An embarrassing reversal at very short odds yesterday, so it’s time to go hunting for some better value.

Thursday November 15

JOSH’S DREAMWAY

Taunton 1.40 WIN

This handicap hurdle for mares is a very ordinary race -- but it looks tailor-made for Jeremy Scott’s six-year-old, even though she has to carry top weight. After a pipe-opening run at Worcester three weeks ago to blow away the cobwebs for the new season, she should be ready now to pick up where she left off last term when winning a couple of contests similar to this. She is seven pounds higher than the second of those successes but based on her earlier form in bumpers, which included a fine effort at Cheltenham’s Open meeting, she ought to be able to handle the rise. The drying ground at Taunton, which is Scott’s local track, will also be in her favour.
