TAWHID

Nottingham 1.40 WIN

With the great Frankel’s swansong coming up on Qatar British Champions Day this Saturday, it’s appropriate that all eyes will be on his two-year-old half-brother, Morpheus, as he makes his debut in this maiden. But unless he’s distinctly above average, he will have to play second fiddle to a more experienced rival from the yard of Saeed Bin Suroor, which is bidding to win the race for the fourth time from only six runners in the last ten years. The well-bred grey colt showed plenty of promise on his first outing in a contest at Ascot that is working out incredibly well. And then, a month later, he fared even better when splitting a couple of very smart juveniles in another decent affair at Salisbury. His pedigree suggests he’ll be best on fast ground but he coped with soft perfectly well last time out and is expected to get off the mark today.
