In July it was revealed that Cavendish had been shortlisted for inclusion in the National Club Golfer TOP 100 English Courses.

A club spokesman said: “Once again we are delighted with this accolade and it completes a clean sweep in TOP 100 Rankings for 2016, 2017 and now 2018.”
Club Captain Malcolm (Nod) Forder congratulated Greens Chairman Mike Higgins and displayed all three framed awards.
Higgins was quick to credit his greens team for the accolade.

The judges then met to agree their order of merit.
It was not just the high ranking that was so pleasing for Cavendish, but also the comments made by the judges.
The comments included: “The best greens complexes I have played in England. A fantastic layout and design — great use of the naturally undulating Peak District terrain.
