Local golfer impresses in LA World Final

The pair finished joint-tenth in the two-day event that brought together players from around the world.

Healy, aged 44, and playing partner Ciullo from Doncaster, scored 57 points in the Stableford rules tournament staged at the Trump National Golf Club.

The event was eventually won by a team representing South Africa.

Healy, a member at Sickleholme GC, said: “It was a once in a lifetime experience.

“I had the most fantastic time playing the Trump National course which was challenging and technical. The competition was tough.

“Over the two days of competition we have had a great time.”

The duo, who ultimately finished 18 points behind the winners, had claimed runners-up in the Audi quattro UK Cup Final at the Bowood Golf & Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire, recently.

The Audi quattro Cup, being staged for the 23rd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 80,000 players from over 52 countries competing.
