Buxton defender Greg Young admits manager Martin McIntosh could have a battle on his hands to keep hold of the club’s prized assets.
The Bucks’ below-par finish last season may result in a clutch of players being tempted to move elsewhere.
The likes of Shaun Tuton and Liam Hardy impressed last season while defender Ash Palmer has also received admiring glances from clubs higher up the footballing pyramid.
Despite probable interest from elsewhere, entre-half Young believes that the spirit in the Bucks’ dressing room may be enough to keep such players at the Silverlands.
He said: “We’ve got some good young players and there’s obviously the chance we could lose some.
“But I think if we do keep them it will be down to that spirit that we’ve got as a dressing room.
“Had we not got that enjoyment then I think we might have already lost them.”
