Martin McIntosh hopes the introduction of new winger Alastair Taylor will provide the Bucks with a much-needed boost ahead of Saturday’s visit to Skelmersdale United.

Taylor joined McIntosh’s side earlier this week on a month’s loan from high-flying Skrill Premier side Alfreton Town.

The 22-year-old will stay at the Silverlands up until the home game against Trafford on Saturday March 8.

McIntosh told the Advertiser: “Alastair is a good signing for us. We had a look at him in pre-season and we thought we were going to sign him then.

“However, Alfreton came in and offered him Conference football so we had to let him go.

“He did well for us so hopefully he can reproduce that form while he’s here again.”

Taylor, a former Barnsley trainee, recently completed a loan spell with Conference North outfit Gainsborough Trinity.

The midfielder has made eight first-team appearances for Alfreton this season but has struggled to make himself a permanent fixture in Nicky Law’s side, who currently sit third in the Conference Premier standings.

Meanwhile, McIntosh says that his side must move on after last Saturday’s collapse at home to AFC Fylde.

The Bucks went down 4-0 at home to the promotion chasers, a result which extended their run to six defeats in all competitions.

McIntosh added: “I thought 4-0 flattered Fylde to be honest, but the second goal was what really killed us.

“Fylde are up there for a good reason and I think they showed that against us, especially in the second half.

“We need to move on from that now.

“Skelmersdale are flying near the top and if we get anything from there it will be a terrific result.

“We just need to keep going and try to turn it around, starting Saturday.”
