Spanish quarantine throws spanner in the works for Buxton's pre-season campaign
The Bucks will be missing four players who are currently in Spain when they travel to Carlton Town.
Gary Hayward’s men will also be missing two players holidaying in England and Reece Styche who is on international duty with Gibraltar.

Hide Ad“I won't be able to get the players for another two weeks due to quarantine.” Hayward said.
“We are missing Reece Styche, but that is alright as he will be training out there so that will be good.
“It has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. We will have to re-jig who has what game time.”
Hayward is expecting to sign three new players this week to conclude his transfer business this summer.

Hide AdAttention will then turn to working on a formation and pattern of play for next season with friendlies coming thick and fast.

Hide Ad“We have been working hard in training so the players look sharp,” he added. “It is important they get minutes in their legs now and we look to get a shape and a pattern.
“I will let them play and get minutes into the lads. We have spoken to Chesterfield, we are speaking to Barrow and Scunthorpe to see if they will bring a squad.
“COVID-19 has killed it all really. It is all still a little bit up in the air and there might be a second spike on the way so it is all a bit nerve-wracking.

Hide Ad“We have to temperature check and sanitise everything and be careful, even more so for me with being on dialysis.”
Buxton travel to Carlton this Saturday, before entertaining Curzon Ashton at home on August 8 and Loughborough Dynamo on August 11 behind closed doors.

Hide AdThey then travel to Nuneaton Borough on August 15 and Eastwood the following Saturday.
Buxton return to the Silverlands to face Hallam on September 1 and Leek Town on September 5.
A provisional friendly at Worksop is penciled for September 8, with Buxton also looking to add a friendly for August 29th.At present all friendlies are being played behind closed doors.
