Redstar hit 12 to dump Cheese out of the cup

AFC Millers’ Derbyshire Cup run came to an end last weekend as they crashed out of the competition at Midway FC.

Travelling to Swadlincote for their first ever quarter-final, the Millers were beaten 3-1. After conceding three goals in the first half, Jake Taylor replied for Millers.

Kinder Lodge continue to dominate the Second Division of the R&B Buxton Taverners League. Entertaining The Prince at Marsh Lane, they ran out 4-1 winners thanks to goals from C Jones, M Birchinall, N Wood and B Higginbotham.

In the First Division, Great Rocks went behind to a P Hadfield strike for hosts Bulls Head. However the visitors showed why they are league leaders and hit five without reply to take the points. J Gregory led the scoring with two goals, with D High, A Lumbert and Z Haywood also contributing.

In the Quarter Final of the Charles Lynch Cup, Antenna Redstar thrashed Kaiser Cheese 12-0.

The apparent one-way traffic was led by Gregorzek (2) followed up with strikes for Burnham, Cartledge, Redfern, Pointon, Tomlinson, Maund and Bradd, and three own goals from the hapless Cheese making a round dozen.
