New Mills will be hoping for a bumper crowd at Church Lane this Saturday, after it was announced the fixture against Prescot Cables has been dubbed ‘pay what you want day.’
In order to boost the matchday attendances at Church Lane, spectators attending this weekend’s clash can pay whatever they feel appropriate at the turnstiles.
However, the club ask that a minimum donation of at least £1 per person is made in order to cover matchday expenses.
A club spokesman said: “Regular fans are encouraged to spread the word about this idea which has proved popular at a number of other clubs up and down the country over the last few years.
“Hopefully it will have a similar impact this coming weekend!”
Roy Soule’s side went without a game last week, as prospective opponents Salford City were in FA Cup replay action.
The Millers visit of Prescot will be their first game in 11 days.
They follow it up with a trip to Farsley on Tuesday night.
