Whaley Bridge Reserves 2

CHRISTIANS came out on top in a pulsating match.
Whaley took an early lead when Christians failed to clear a cross, but straight from the restart Sullivan notched up his 43rd goal of the campaign with a deflected free-kick.
Despite the efforts of the Whaley keeper, Christians went ahead through a fierce Green shot following a corner. After the break, Dunn made it 3-1 with a low, crisp shot after a magical run and perfect pass by Craig Owen.
Whaley pulled it back to 3-2, after which Sullivan missed a penalty. Man of the match Owen cleared off the line to prevent an equaliser, and then at the other end scored with a sublime chip to seal a 4-2 triumph.

BRADWELL looked every bit a team on course for promotion in the first half, attacking from all angles, and only superb defending kept the scoreline to 1-0 at the interval, the goal coming via a towering header from a far post cross.
Christians started to test the Bradwell defence after the break. Sullivan struck a ferocious free-kick which forced the Bradwell keeper into a smart save, and late on a Sullivan flick-on released Craig Owen whose powerful shot was turned round the post.
But a defensive slip-up allowed Bradwell to net a second with an expert finish.
