New Mills hope to unveil their new manager by next week, after whittling down their shortlist to four candidates.
Roy Soule left the club last week after departing by mutual consent.
The Millers’ hierarchy have been busy interviewing candidates and Patrick Kenyon, club treasurer, has confirmed that a successor should be announced early next week.
He told the Advertiser: “We’ve been pleased with the level of response we’ve got from applicants.
“We got about half-a-dozen applicants, all at a good level.
“We have now narrowed it down to a shortlist of four.
“Interviews will take place imminently and we hope to announce the new manager early next week.”
In terms of on-the-field issues, Kenyon has confirmed the club has pencilled in three home friendlies.
They will host Rochdale and Ashton United to Church Lane, as well as a select XI from Sheffield United.
The Millers are also scheduled to travel to Runcorn Town and Congleton, with more games to be confirmed.
