The Buxton manager revealed this week that former Leicester City winger King has agreed to sign a deal with the Bucks - in the process snubbing interest from clubs higher up the non-league pyramid.

The 22-year-old has been arguably the standout performer for Buxton this season with a vast array of skills complimented by both goals and assists.

King, who arrived at the Silverlands in the summer, has already gained a growing list of admirers after a string of impressive performances.

This season he has been an ever-present in the league and also started both FA Cup qualifying games.

Speaking shortly after revealing King had agreed terms, McIntosh told the Advertiser: “I’m delighted Craig’s signed the deal and that he’s staying.

“He’s told me that he’s really happy here and that he loves it.

“I think he’s someone in the same mould as Marc Roberts (now at FC Halifax).

“I definitely think Craig can go on and play at a higher level just like Marc is doing.

“He’s been terrific for us this season and if he’s rejecting higher teams to commit to us then that tells me we must be doing something right here.”
