Buxton FC face their penultimate away trip of the season on Saturday as they head to relegation-threatened Kendal Town (kick-off 3pm).

Midweek wins for AFC Fylde over Frickley Athletic and Stocksbridge Park Steels, coupled with the Bucks’ 1-1 draw against Chorley on Wednesday evening, ended Martin McIntosh’s sides’ faint hopes of securing a top-five finish and a place in the end-of-season Evo-Stik Premier Division playoffs.

With Kendal languishing second from bottom in the table, McIntosh knows his side face a tough test on Saturday, as victory for the Bucks would all but seal the Cumbrian side’s relegation.

“Kendal are fighting for their lives, still trying to stay in the division alongside Grantham so they’ve got a lot to play for but I am confident we will go there and get the points,” he said.
