Last-minute strike caps off stunning Tidza debut

Tideswell United took all three points with a last minute strike as Dronfield Town were the visitors to Pursglove.

The Sawyeds handed a debut to Paul Egerton, who hit his first for the club after only ten minutes from the penalty spot.

The keeper guessed right but couldn’t keep the shot out.

As the sides turned around, Town attacked with the wind and penned United in their own half.

Steve Tuft awarded a second penalty of the afternoon to Town, but the striker missed the target.

Town were level after a good finish from the edge of the area.

Dean Morris put United back in front with 20 minutes left on the clock with a superb strike.


United hearts seemed to have been broken as Town again drew level with 90 minutes played through a stunning free kick.

But United have character these days and swept forward with the last throw of the dice.

The outstanding Fraser Bloor picked out Egerton, who made no mistake with his strike to seal the three points for United and cap a memorable debut.
