Premier Division: Dove Holes FC 1, Hathersage 2
HAVING won their opening six league games, Dove Holes were hoping to add Hathersage to their list of scalps on Saturday. However things didn’t go to plan.
Having taken the lead midway through the first half with a well-taken goal from Charlie Vize, Dove seemed to relax a little too much and Hathersage took full advantage.
Hathersage should have equalised just before the break, but the chance went begging. That should have been the wake-up call Dove needed, but Hathersage started to gain the upper hand and, after some sloppy play by Dove, Hathersage got the equaliser.
Things then went from bad to worse as again Dove failed to clear the ball and Hathersage scored again.
Hathersage duly deserved this victory as they never stopped battling and their workrate outshone their hosts.
